This year the 2021 Chinese Lunar New Year holiday period will be February 11 to 17. Each year all parties in the supply chain are encouraged to plan accordingly. This year it is imperative to plan effectively. The supply chain at every level has been significantly impacted by container imbalance, rolled bookings, unstable sailing schedules, and the ongoing challenges of Covid-19. GLC suggests that you communicate and coordinate closely with supply chain stakeholders in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, North Korea, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam to identify supplier production schedules, booking/space availability, and loading & sailing schedules. Coordination prior to the holiday period is crucial. During the week of Feb 11-17 most, all businesses in countries that recognize the Lunar New Year Holiday are completely closed.
